Powder Surface Treatment
The surface treatment and modification of various powders with silane can significantly improve the dispersibility of powders, reduce oil absorption value, increase loading capacity, and increase reinforcement effect. Different types of silane are used due to different system environments.
Thermal conductive powders generally include spherical alumina, silicon nitride, aluminum nitride, etc. Long chain alkyl silanes such as JH-N3116 and JH-N3112 are the most common treatment agents, which can improve the initial flowability, loading capacity, and thermal conductivity of the thermal conductive system.
Precipitated silica is used as a wear-resistant agent for tire rubber, using various sulfur-containing silanes such as JH-S69, JH-S75, JH-S264, JH-S1891, etc; As a reinforcing agent for high-temperature vulcanized silicone rubber, vinyl silanes such as JH-V171, JH-V151, JH-VP10, and JH-VP11 are commonly used for treatment, and they have low resistance during the mixing process.
Vinyl silanes such as JH-VP10, JH-VP11, JH-VP12, JH-V172, and JH-V171 are commonly used for surface treatment of flame retardant powders such as aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide used for wires and cables.
The treatment of pigment powders such as titanium dioxide usually uses JH-N308, JH-N308P, and JH-NP31, which can ensure good dispersion and brightness of the pigment.
Some inorganic powder fillers used in high-temperature resistant systems often use high-temperature resistant silanes such as JH-A118.
JH-PEG100, as a surface treatment of inorganic powder pigments and fillers in water-based coating systems using polyethersilane, can effectively improve anti settling performance, improve coating wetting and spreading performance, and reduce sagging.
